Thomas Wendell Carico, 68 of Fancy Gap, passed away on Wednesday, March 29, 2023 at his home. Mr. Carico was born in Carroll County, VA to the late James Roger and Nona Fay Higgins Carico. In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by a brother, Dennis Paul Carico and a sister, Debra Carico.

Survivors include his wife, Nancy Carico of Fancy Gap; children, William and April Carico of Radford, Scotty and Kristen Carico of Galax, John and Jenny Carico of Hillsville, and Jason Carico of Fancy Gap; grandchildren, Billy Carico of Galax, Constence Carico of Hillsville, Landon Kinder of Hillsville, Dakota Bowers of Radford, Madelyn Carico of Radford, and Arianna Carico of Radford; brothers and sisters-in-law, Roger and Norman Carico, Ronnie and Janie Carico, Kenneth and Debbie Carico, all of Galax; sisters and brothers-in-law, Geneva and Clifford Horton of TN, Linda Sumner of Galax, Brenda and Larry Carpenter of Galax, and Mary Carrico of Galax; and sister-in-law, Audrey Carico.

A visitation from 11:00 AM until 12:00 PM, with funeral services following at 12:00 PM, will be held on Saturday, April 1, 2023 at Vaughan-Guynn-McGrady Chapel with Pastors Michael Senter, Wayne Marion, and Jerry King officiating. Burial will follow in the Blue Ridge Chapel Cemetery. Charlie Carrico, Landon Kinder, Adam Larrowe, Jimmy Carrico, Nick Carrico, Andrew Toliver, Matthew Toliver and Dustun Carrico will serve as pallbearers. Vaughan-Guynn-McGrady Chapel is serving the family.
