Thelma June Nester, 76, of Austinville, Virginia, passed away Friday, October 30, 2014 at Grayson Nursing & Rehab, Independence, Virginia. Mrs. Nester was born July 1, 1938 in Carroll County, Virginia to the late James Wesley and Mary Elizabeth Primm Williams. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by daughter Betty Sue Nester, son Arnold Nester, Jr., and brother Roger Carpenter. She is survived by her husband Arnold Elmo Nester of the home; daughter and special friend Mary Ruth Nester and Randall Neely of Christiansburg, Virginia; three sons and a daughter-in-law: James Arnold Nester of Rockledge, Florida; Donald Wayne Nester of Dublin, Virginia and Thomas L. & Tabatha L. Nester of Austinville, Virginia; sister Shirley Turner of Hillsville, Virginia; brother and sister-in-law: Don & Annabelle Primm of Hillsville, Virginia; three grandchildren Thomas L. Nester, Jr., Haley R. Nester, Kayla M. Nester; special nephew Teddy Turner, and several nieces and nephews. Funeral service will be held Monday, November 3, 2014 at 2:00 PM in the Vaughan-Guynn-McGrady Chapel with Rev. Mike Hall officiating. Interment will follow in the Pickett Cemetery. The family will receive friends Sunday, November 2, 2014 from 6:00 until 8:00 PM at the Vaughan-Guynn-McGrady Chapel, Hillsville, Virginia.
