Thelma Marshall Montgomery, 96 of Hillsville, passed away on Thursday, April 24, 2008 at Golden Living Center Blue Ridge. She was preceded in death by her husband, Rollie Elmer Montgomery and a granddaughter, Shiraine Montgomery Browning. Mrs. Montgomery is survived by her two sons & daughters-in-law, James & Gunda Montgomery and Robert & Shirley Montgomery all of Galax; two grandchildren Rose Marie Duff and Michael Montgomery; three great grandchildren, Marc Duff, James Edward Montgomery II and Mikaela Montgomery; two great-great grandchildren Joseph Duff and Darian Duff; and two brothers, Granville Marshall of Pulaski and G. Payne Marshall of Kingsport, TN.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, April 26, 2008 at Vaughan-Guynn-McGrady Chapel at 2:00 PM with the Rev. Terri Johnson Gregory and the Rev. Charles Smythers officiating. Burial will follow at Monta Vista Memory Gardens. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Saturday from 1:00 to 2:00 PM prior to the funeral service.
