Thelma Edith Henley, 80, of Hillsville, passed away on Monday, August 20, 2012 at her home. Mrs. Henley was born in Carroll County to the late George Henley and Daisy James. In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by two grandchildren, Kayla Bayer and Jesse Farmer. Survivors include her children and their spouses, Brenda and Scott Thompson, of Galax, Sandra and James Cave, of Sneedville, TN, Michael and Carolyn Farmer, of Blythewood, SC, Joyce and Bill Barr, of Hagerstown, MD, Edith and Darin Wade, of Hillsville, and Priscilla and David Sawyers, of Woodlawn; brother, Clarence Henley, of Galax; sister, Rita Alderman, of Hillsville; 16 grandchildren; and 16 great grandchildren. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, August 23, 2012 at Vaughan-Guynn-McGrady Chapel at 3:30 PM with Pastor Daniel Royo officiating. Burial will follow in the Shockley Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Thursday from 2:30 PM until 3:30 PM prior to the funeral service. Vaughan-Guynn-McGrady Chapel is serving the family.
