Terry Ray Nester, 61 of Austinville, passed away on Sunday, October 29, 2023 at Wythe County Community Hospital.  Mr. Nester was born in Radford, Virginia to the late Collin Ray and Loetta Williams Nester.  In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by an uncle, Edwin Williams.

Survivors include his wife, Melissa Spraker; daughter and son-in-law, Brittany Nester (Norris); son, Joshua Nester; sons and daughters-in-law, Jared Spraker (Kristen) and Justin Spraker (Brandi); grandchildren, Ricky, Aria, Olivia and Braelyn; siblings, Timothy Nester (Danny Ogle), Stephen Nester (Jackie), and Tammy Peak (Steven); mother of his children, Missy Nester; special friends, James and Andi Nester and Tommy and Becky Davis; several nieces and nephews and beloved sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law.

Terry never met a stranger.  He was loved by all.  Terry didn't know how to quit and was hard-working and determined to provide for his family under any circumstance.  He was an avid Dallas Cowboys and Cincinnati Reds fan. Terry enjoyed coaching basketball and was an amazing coach to his kids and others.   He was the best husband, the greatest father and grandfather ever, a devoted son, brother, cousin, and friend and will be missed always and forever.

Funeral services will be held on Monday, November 6, 2023 at Vaughan-Guynn-McGrady Chapel at 2:00 PM with Pastor Jeff Pickett officiating.  Burial will follow in the Little Vine Cemetery.  The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Monday from 12:00 until 2:00 PM prior to the service.  Vaughan-Guynn-McGrady Chapel is serving the family.
