Teressa Louise Montgomery, 54, of Mt. Airy, NC, departed this earthly life on Saturday, November 12, 2016 at Forsyth Hospital in Winston Salem, NC. She was born on October 9, 1962. She was preceded in death by her parents, Shirley Thomas and Louise Sexton Montgomery and four sisters.

Teressa is survived by her fiancé, Doug Joyner of Mt. Airy, NC; his daughter, Dawn (Jody) Potts of King, NC; his sons, Thomas of Mt. Airy, NC, Nicolas of Statesville, NC, and Keenan of Mt. Airy, NC; three grandsons, and one granddaughter; two sisters, Lynn (Wayne) Davis of Dugspur, VA, and Carla (Ken) McCauley of Salem, VA; brother, Tom (Sue) Montgomery of Gainsville, GA. Teressa was a beloved aunt to three generations of Montgomery nieces and nephews, as well as sister, Auntie T and Momma T to countless family by heart.

A celebration of Teressa's life will be held on Saturday, November 19, 2016 at 11:00 AM at Bethel Church, 585 Deer Ridge Road, Hillsville, VA 24343 with Pastor Paul Perkins officiating. There will be a period of visitation with a pot luck meal following the service. You are invited to bring a covered dish if you like and join us if possible.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to American Legion Post 123, 691 West Lebanon Street, Mt. Airy, NC 27030 or to Vaughan-Guynn-McGrady Chapel P.O. Box 145 Hillsville, VA 24343 to help cover expenses. Vaughan-Guynn-McGrady Chapel is serving the family.
