Sylvia Lou Tate, 86 of Ararat, passed away on Monday, July 22, 2024 at Blue Ridge Therapy Connection in Stuart.  Mrs. Tate was born in Carroll County to the late William McKinley and Nancy Lou Crotts Tate.  In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her husband, Burton Tate; son, William Burton Wade Tate; daughter, Trudy Tate; and granddaughter, Alisha Smith Marion.

Survivors include her daughter-in-law, Christina Tate; granddaughter, Tiffani Tate; grandsons, Dustin Tate and Timothy Albert; and several other family members and friends.

A graveside service with burial will be held on Thursday, July 25, 2024 at Woodlawn Cemetery at 11:00 AM with Chris Todd officiating.  The family will receive friends at the cemetery from 10:00 until 11:00 AM prior to the graveside service.  Vaughan-Guynn-McGrady Chapel is serving the family.
