Sylvia Sumner Phillips, 62 of Morristown, TN passed away on Monday, August 22, 2011 at her residence. Ms. Phillips was born in Carroll Count to the late Lemuel & Amanda Kathryn Sumner. She is survived by her daughter Charlotte W. Schmierer of Biloxi, MS; son and daughter-in-law Jason N. and Emily Phillips of Ocean Springs, MS; brothers and sisters-in-law Russell and Judy Sumner of King, NC and Marshall and Linda Sumner of Galax; sisters and brother-in-law Shirley Nester of Morristown, TN and Mildred and Carol Martin of King, NC; and five grandchildren Ashleigh Schmierer, Justin Phillips, Corey Phillips, Elijah Stafford, and Isaiah Stafford.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, August 27, 2011 at 11:00 am at Vaughan-Guynn-McGrady Chapel with Rev. Tommy Holder officiating. Burial will follow in the Wilson Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Friday, August 26, 2011 from 6:00 until 8:00 PM.
