Sylvia Dean Newman Dalton, 90 of Hillsville, passed away on Sunday, June 4, 2017 at Waddell Nursing and Rehab. Mrs. Dalton was born in Dugspur, VA to the late Joseph Lawrence and Rose Ellen Reese Newman. In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her husband, Clyde Milford Dalton; three sisters; and six brothers.

Survivors include her sons and daughter-in-law, Geraland C. and Faye Dalton of Hillsville and Gary M. Dalton of Hillsville; grandson and spouse, G. Dwayne and Lisa R. Dalton of Lynchburg; and great grandsons, Nathaniel Tyler Dalton and Matthew David Dalton.

Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, June 7, 2017 at 11:00 AM at Vaughan-Guynn-McGrady Chapel with Pastor Wendell Horton officiating. Burial will follow in the Newman Cemetery in Dugspur. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Wednesday from 9:30 AM until 11:00 AM prior to the funeral service. Vaughan-Guynn-McGrady Chapel is serving the family.
