Sylvia Nester Bohon, of Hillsville, born March 15, 1926, passed away on November 8 at Trinity Mission Health and Rehab in Hillsville. She was preceded in death by her husband, Rufus A. Bohon. She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Robin and John Parks of Ithaca, NY, and grandchildren Adam Parks, Beau Parks, and Rachel (David) Rochefort. In addition, survivors include two sisters, Velma Roberts and Eula (Owen) Martin, and one brother, Moir (Connie) Nester, and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held on Monday, November 11, at 11:00 AM at Vaughn Guynn McGrady Chapel with Pastor Robert Smith officiating. Burial will follow in Wilkinson Memorial Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Monday from 10:00 AM until service time. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial contributions be made to First United Methodist Church of Hillsville, P.O. Box 356, Hillsville, VA 24343. Vaughan-Guynn-McGrady Chapel is serving the family.
