Sylvan Luther White, 88 of Hillsville, passed away on Wednesday, February 14, 2024 at Galax Health and Rehab.  Mr. White was born in Carroll County, Virginia to the late Albert Ross and Ruth Olive Webb White. In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by siblings, Marvin White, Thorton White, and Louetta Young.

Survivors include his wife, Fayogle H. White; children, James Ross White, Nellie W. Walthers, Pauletta Jewell White, Sara Lou Matlock, and Sylvan White, Jr. (Teresa); several grandchildren; many great-grandchildren; and sister, Lena Dalton.

A graveside service with burial following will be held on Tuesday, February 20, 2024 at the White Cemetery at 1:00 PM with Pastor Jeff Pickett officiating.  The family will receive friends after the service at the Hillsville Pentecostal Holiness Church Fellowship Hall. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the family. Vaughan-Guynn-McGrady Chapel is serving the family.
