Stella Cochran Howlett, 86 of Hillsville, passed away Thursday, November 10, 2005 at Twin County Regional Hospital. Mrs. Howlett was preceded in death by her husband Alvin Glenwood Howlett and her parents Norm & Sybilla Cochran. She is survived by her sister Maggie Cochran Shockley of Hillsville; sister-in-law Wilma Howlett of Hillsville; nieces & spouses Mary Joyce & J.C. Fulford, Betty & Harold Gallagher, Elsie & J.D. Smith, Bonnie & Wade Padgett, Sue & James Faddis, Belinda & John Nichols and Viola Howlett; nephews & spouses Wade & Celeada Cochran, Bill & Joan Cochran, Dennie & Katie Shockley, J.B. & Peggy Shockley, Ernie Shockley, Dale Cochran and Michael & Barbara Howlett; and several great nieces & nephews. Funeral services will be Sunday, November 13, 2005 at Dalton Hill Christian Church at 2:00 P.M. Mrs. Howlett will lie in state at the church one hour prior to the funeral service. Pastor Chip Neely will officiate and burial will follow in the Dalton Hill Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 P.M. on Saturday night at Vaughan-Guynn-McGrady Chapel in Hillsville. In lieu of flowers the family request that donations be made to the Dalton Hill Christian Church Building Fund.
