Obituary

Squire L. Searcy, 72 of Indian Valley, went home to be with the Lord on Monday, May 15, 2006. Mr. Searcy was preceded in death by his parents James Cleveland and Elizabeth Mae Searcy; brother Chum Searcy and brother-in-law Floyd Hawkins. Mr. Searcy is survived by his wife Rosemary Searcy of the home; children & spouses Butch & Barbara Searcy of Tega Cay, SC, Jane Searcy of Iron Station, NC, Sherry & Jim Crofts of Simpsonville, SC, Margaret & Mike Miller of Norcross, GA, Karen & Erik Wagner of Charlotte, NC, and Judi & Stephen Westerfield of Cary, NC; special adopted children & spouse Bucky Oates of Lowesville, NC and Janet & Bill Robinson of Woodlawn; grandchildren Megan Crofts, Ryan Crofts, Danny Crofts, Steven Miller, James Miller, Benjamin Wagner and One on the way; special adopted grandchildren & spouse Dawn & Stacy Warren and Brandon Bunn; sisters & brother-in-law Betty Hawkins of Mt. Holly, NC and Jessie & Don Fortner of Spartanburg, SC; and many special friends.

Funeral services will be Monday, May 22, 2006 at Vaughan-Guynn-McGrady Chapel at 11:00 A.M. with the Rev. Norman Goad and the Rev. Charles Smythers. Military Rites will be conducted by the Grover King Post 1115 of Hillsville and Masonic Rites will be conducted by the Long Creek Lodge # 205 AF & AM of Huntersville, NC. The family will receive friends from 5:00 to 8:00 P.M. on Sunday night at the funeral home. The family requests no flowers; however donations may be made to Camp Dickenson 801 Camp Dickenson Lane, Fries, VA 24330 or to Willis United Methodist Church Parsonage Fund 5671 Floyd Highway South, Willis, VA 24380 or to the charity of your choice.
