Shirley Myers Martin, 71, of 251 Mason Court, Martinsville, VA died Wednesday, October 24, 2007 at her home. Born on June 1, 1936 in Carroll County, VA, she was the daughter of the late Dewey C. Myers and Goldia Bays Myers. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her husband, Elbert Lee Martin.

Ms. Martin retired from E. I. DuPont, Inc. where she worked in the Chem Lab. She was a member of the Hillcrest Baptist Church in Ridgeway, VA.

Surviving are her two sisters, Barbara Myers Surratt of Radford, VA and Betty Myers Parnell of Collinsville, VA; three brothers, Vernon Myers of Collinsville, VA, Basil Myers of Ridgeway, VA and Edward Myers of Martinsville, VA; ten nieces and nephews, Deborah Hodges, Gary Surratt, Kim Myers, Rebecca Brown, Patti Bryant, Tim Myers, Tony Parnell, Suzanne Boyes, Allison Walters and Jennifer Myers and several great-nieces and nephews.

A graveside service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, October 26, 2007 at Myers Family Cemetery in Hillsville, VA with Rev. Doug Ramsey officiating. The family will receive friends at Vaughan-Guynn-McGrady Chapel in Hillsville, VA one hour prior to the graveside service.
