Shirley Fay Lephew, 61, of Galax, Virginia died Thursday, December 3, 2020 in the Northern Regional  Hospital, Mt. Airy, North Carolina.  She was born April 18, 1959 to Ernest and Helen Nester Goad.  In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by a brother E. Dale Goad.

She retired from a long career as a nurse working locally in healthcare for almost 40 years.

Survivors include her husband of 38 years, John Lewis Lephew of the home; son Jeffrey and Sally Lephew; granddaughter Sophia Lephew; one sister Mary (Sanford) Goad; nephew Richard (Stacy) Goad; niece Angela (Derek) Nester; and nephew Allen (Wendi) Goad.

The funeral service will be held Wednesday December 9, 2020 at 11:00 AM in the Vaughan-Guynn-McGrady Chapel with Pastor Jeff Pickett officiating.  Interment will follow in the Nester Cemetery, Laurel Fork, Virginia.  The family will receive friend Tuesday December 8, 2020 from 6:00 PM Until 8:00 PM at the funeral home.
