Sherman Lee Stanley, 90 of Meadows of Dan, passed away on Thursday, January 3, 2019. Mr. Stanley was born in Carroll County to the late Everett L. and Irene A. Turman Stanley. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Edna Marie Stanley; sisters, Helen Burnett, Mabel Barber and Dorothy Culler; and great-grandson, Haden Brady.

Sherman was retired from the Parkway Service. He loved his family and friends and he loved Bluegrass Gospel Music.

Survivors include his children and spouses, Donna Brady and Howard Brady, Jr. of Lanexa, Jerry Stanley of Meadows of Dan, and Jeff Stanley and Susanne of Hillsville; sister, Avagene Terry of Meadows of Dan; grandchildren, Mark, Angel, Chad, Sally, Toby, and Ana; seventeen great-grandchildren; and five great-great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held on Sunday, January 6, 2019 at Reed Island Springs Missionary Baptist Church at 2:00 PM with Rev. Lonnie Hylton and Rev. Roland McCraw officiating. Burial will follow in the Reed Island Springs Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends at Vaughan-Guynn-McGrady Chapel on Saturday, January 5, 2019 from 3:00 until 5:00 PM. Vaughan-Guynn-McGrady Chapel is serving the family.
