Sharon Ambrose Lewis passed away on May 16, 2026, at her home in Fancy Gap, VA.

Sharon was born, January 5, 1943, and grew up in Kansas City, Missouri.  In 1961, she moved to Jensen Beach, Florida. She later relocated to Cape Canaveral, Florida, where she met Bob Lewis in 1966. Sharon and Bob were married in January 1967 and shared 59 years of marriage. In 1974, they moved to Lake Worth, Florida, where they made their home for 33 years. In 2007, they built their home in Fancy Gap, Virginia.

Family

Sharon is survived by her husband, Bob Lewis; her son, Mark Lewis; and her brother, Steve Ambrose. Mark, who was born in 1975, resides here with Bob in Fancy Gap, Virginia.

She was preceded in death by her beloved mother, Betty Jean Ambrose, and her sister, Sandy Ross.

Education and Career

Sharon was the first in her family to earn a college degree, graduating in the field of education. After completing her degree, she taught second grade for one year before becoming a tax accountant, which she did for the rest of her career.

Interests and Hobbies

Sharon loved riding along the Blue Ridge Parkway, playing golf, and being active in the Arts Council. Her love of bass fishing earned her the honor of Lake Lizzie Bass Fishing Champion. While living in Florida, Sharon developed an interest in collecting bears, a hobby she continued for many years. Her collection is displayed throughout her home.
