Sharon L. Edwards, 55 of Galax, passed away on Monday, September 21, 2009 at Carilion New River Valley Medical Center. Mrs. Edwards is survived by her husband Rex D. Edwards of Hillsville; daughters & son-in-law Donna Marie Kennedy of Falls Church, VA and Elizabeth Jane & Adam Matherly of Floyd; stepsons Neil Edwards and Kevin Edwards both of Hillsville; sisters & brother-in-law Geraldine & Gerald Kennedy of Culpepper, VA; and Ethel Phillips of Crossville, TN; two nieces Sandy Phillips of Crossville, TN and Tammy Lucas Thornhill of Princeton, WV; nephew Timmy Thornhill of Princeton, WV; and eight grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held on Thursday, September 24, 2009 at Vaughan-Guynn-McGrady Chapel at 11:00 AM with Rev. David Edwards officiating. Burial will follow in the Bobbitt-Quesinberry Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Thursday from 10:00 AM until service time.
