Shane Lee Murphy, 40 of Hillsville, passed away on Monday, October 16, 2023 at his home.  Mr. Murphy was born in North Carolina on February 21, 1983.  He was preceded in death by his mother, Connie Jane Ring Nelson.

Survivors include his children, Cheyenne Murphy and Kai Murphy; father and step-mother, Terry and Diana Murphy; step-father, Bill Nelson; mother of his children, Lashonda Linkous; sister and brother-in-law, Hannah and Mark Mannon; step-siblings, Bobby Joe Haynes, Torri Nichols, Jamie Nelson, and Chama McKnight; and special friend, Tena Arnold.

A memorial service will be held on Friday, October 20, 2023 at Vaughan-Guynn-McGrady Chapel at 4:00 PM with Pastor Sam Burnette officiating.  The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Friday from 3:00 until 4:00 PM prior to the memorial service.  Vaughan-Guynn-McGrady Chapel is serving the family.
