Shae Marin Horton's Obituary
Shae Horton, age 18, passed away Friday at Vidant Medical Center in Greenville, Born in Wayne County she was the daughter of Jeff and Alicia Horton and the sister of Chase and Noah Horton of Faison, she was also the granddaughter of Ricky and Sandi Best of Grantham and Jake Horton of King, N.C., she was preceded in death by her paternal grandmother Barbara Horton.
Funeral Services will be held on Monday Evening at 7:00 p.m. at Southern Wayne High School with Pastor John Earnest officiating. The family will visit with friends following the service. Burial will follow on Tuesday at 2:00 p.m. in Gardner Memorial Cemetery in Hillsville, Virginia.
Shae was a 2015 graduate of Southern Wayne High School and currently was enrolled at The College of Wilmington Cosmetology School.
In addition to her parents, brothers and grandparents, Shae is survived by her uncles; Brian Horton of Austin, Texas and Josh Crawford and his wife Amy of Goldsboro.
Our beloved Shae was too good for this world. She was a bright shining light and a personality tour de force, defiant in the face of struggle and candidly truthful in conversation. She tempered these qualities with a tender demeanor and an unselfish heart that often drew comparisons to her grandmother Barbara. Like Barbara, she is now in the care of the Lord that she loved and the Christ that she confessed. In the end, the miracle God gave us was not the bodily healing we were expecting; rather, it was 18 years of pure joy with our sweet baby girl. We will always remember her beautiful singing voice, her delicious Sassy Sweets, her fun-loving spirit, and her precious laughter. She was a wonderful and irreplaceable soul, and will be dearly missed.
