Sammy D. Keene, Jr., 55 of Hillsville, passed away on Saturday, June 13, 2009 at his residence. He was born in Welch, WV to Samuel & Gladys Keene. He was preceded in death by his father and brother Tim Keene. Mr. Keene is survived by his daughters Samantha Kay Vail of Dobson, NC, Tiffany Nichole Snead of Bartley, WV and Santina Marie Keene of Caretta, WV; mother Gladys Keene of Hillsville; sister Yvonne L. Martin of Hillsville; brothers Terry Keene of Barren Springs, Blaine Keene of Princeton, WV, Eugene Keene of Hillsville, Randy Keene of Jacksonville, FL, and Gary Keene of Jacksonville, FL.

Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, June 17, 2009 at the Hillsville Pentecostal Holiness Church with Pastor Jeff Pickett and Ron Fredrick officiating. Burial will follow in Felts Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the church on Tuesday, June 16, 2009 from 6:00 until 8:00 PM.
