Saford Dempsey Higgs, 72, of Indian Valley, Virginia passed away on Friday, April 30, 2010 at Carilion Roanoke Memorial Hospital. He was preceded in death by his parents Issac & Flora Higgs.

He is survived by sisters & brother Larmie Sowers of Willis, Pansy Lawson of Serville, TN, Burlie Higgs of LA, Essie Dayton of Texas, & Bonnie Skaggs of Colorado Springs, CO. Several nieces & nephews also survive.

Funeral services will be held on Monday, May 03, 2010 at 1:00 p.m. at Vaughan-Guynn-McGrady Chapel with Rev. Vinton Quesenberry officiating. Burial will follow at the Captain George Cemetery, in Floyd County. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Monday, May 03, 2010 one hour prior to the funeral service. Vaughan-Guynn-McGrady Chapel is serving the family.
