Ruth Carter Semones, 83, of Hillsville, passed away on Wednesday, July 23, 2014 at Princeton Community Hospital. Mrs. Semones was born in Carroll County to the late Fred and Nellie Rotenizer Carter. In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by a son, Gary Semones; two brothers, Everett Carter and Homer Carter; and one sister, Fern Smith. Survivors include her husband, Creed Semones of the home; son and daughter-in-law, Kevin and Becky Semones of Hillsville; brother, Wayne Carter of Roanoke; sister, Wilma Vaughn of Austinville; and grandchildren, Megan Crawford and Noah Crawford. Funeral services will be held on Sunday, July 27, 2014 at Vaughan-Guynn-McGrady Chapel at 2:00 PM with Elder Ronald Bowman and Elder Tim McGrady officiating. Burial will follow in the Semones Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Saturday, July 26, 2014 from 6:00 until 8:00 PM. Vaughan-Guynn-McGrady Chapel is serving the family.
