Ruth R. Robertson 79, of Stuart formerly of Fancy Gap, passed away Saturday, July 5, 2014 at the Blue Ridge Nursing Home in Stuart. Mrs. Robertson was born August 24, 1934 in Carroll County, to the late Robert Lee and Mary Jane Ayers Rigney. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Robertson was also preceded in death by her husband, Roy Robertson; son, William Curtis Rigney, Jr.; daughter, Mary Ruth Hiatt; and a great-grandson, Jaxon Rigney. Survivors include her sons, Bobby Robertson of Mount Airy, NC and Billy Robertson of North Carolina; daughter-in-law, Esther Rigney of Fancy Gap; grandchildren, Teddy Rigney, Robert Rigney, and John Rigney; great grandchildren, Miranda Lane, Chase Rigney, Wesley Rigney, Austin Kyler Rigney, Madison Jade Rigney, and Kadyn Rayne Rigney; and brother, George Rigney of Hillsville. A private graveside service with burial will be held at Rigney Cemetery with Joey Mabe officiating. Vaughan-Guynn-McGrady Chapel is serving the Robertson family.
