Russell Goad, 89 of Willis, passed away on Thursday, January 5, 2023 at Northern Surry Hospital. Mr. Goad was born in Carroll County, Virginia to the late Posie and Laura Dalton Goad. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his son, Bobby Goad; step-son, Danny Nester; brothers, Arlin, Goad, Ornia Goad, Forest Goad, Clinton Goad, Elgia Goad, Friel Goad, and Freeman Goad; and sisters, Cora Goad, Beulah G. Richardson, and Fredia Helen G. Raines.

Survivors include his wife, Nancy M. Nester Goad; daughter, Lora Goad; step-daughter, Regina Nester; sisters, Frances (Belle) G. Reece and Sylvia G. Hammill; grandchildren, Charlena Renee Goad, Marcus Dwayne Goad, Alonzo Keith Goad, and Jose Manuel Goad; and five great-grandchildren.

A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, January 10, 2023 at Vaughan-Guynn-McGrady Chapel at 2:00 PM with Elder Ronald Bowman officiating. Burial will follow in the Frederick Nester Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Tuesday from 1:00 until 2:00 PM prior to the funeral service. Vaughan-Guynn-McGrady Chapel is serving the family.
