Rush B. Griffin, 86, of Austinville, passed away on Wednesday, April 6, 2016 at Forsyth Medical Center. Mr. Griffin was born in Carroll County to the late Bruce and Alverta Beasley Griffin. In addition to his parents, Mr. Griffin was also preceded in death by his brothers, Glen, Ellis, Coolidge, Brooks, John, Elmer, and Owen Griffin.

Survivors include his wife, Kathleen Horton Griffin of the home; children and spouses, Darry and Carolyn Griffin of Hillsville, Joy and Leon Caviness of Hillsville, Gerry and Debbie Griffin of Austinville, Dee and Delphia Griffin of Austinville; sister, Lydia Towe of Cana; sister-in-law, Elsie Griffin of Hillsville; seven grandchildren, Jeff, Todd, Missy, Jason, Travis, Jessica, and Keri; and seven great grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, April 9, 2016 at 11:00 A.M. at Vaughan-Guynn-McGrady Chapel with Pastor Jeff Pickett, Elder Ronald Bowman, and Pastor Phillip Campbell officiating. Burial will follow in the Myers Cemetery on Ridge Road. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Friday, April 8, 2016 from 6:00 until 8:00 PM. Vaughan-Guynn-McGrady Chapel is serving the family.
