Ruby Ann Nester Pickett, 76, of Wytheville, passed away on Sunday, June 5, 2016 at Wythe County Hospital. Mrs. Pickett was born in Wythe County, Virginia to the late Ray Clifton and Polly Ann White Nester. In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her husband, Donald "Buddy" Pickett and two brothers, Doug Nester and Roger Nester.

She is survived by sons and daughters-in-law, Tony Pickett and wife, Regina of Wytheville and Scott Pickett and wife, Shannon of Patterson; grandchildren and spouse, Amy Haislip and husband, Pete of Christiansburg, Chris Pickett of Roanoke, and Joshua Pickett of Wytheville; great grandchild, Jordyn Haislip of Christiansburg; sisters, Cathy Elliot of Hillsville and Charlotte Pepper of Galax; brothers, Dallas Nester of Hillsville, Collin Nester of Poplar Camp, Clifton Nester of Pembroke, Sammy Nester of Gordonville, TN, J.R. Nester of Gordonville, TN, Roy Nester of Shorts Creek, Lonnie Nester of Austinville, Jack Nester of Hillsville, and Perry Nester of Fancy Gap; and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held on Thursday, June 9, 2016 at 11:00 AM at Vaughan-Guynn-McGrady Chapel with Andy Edmonds officiating. Burial will follow in the Pickett Cemetery in Wythe County. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Wednesday, June 8, 2016 from 6:00 until 8:00 PM. Vaughan-Guynn-McGrady Chapel is serving the family.
