Ruby Mae Hiatt Hunter, 57 of Mt. Airy, N.C., passed away on Friday, June 26, 2009 at Woltz Hospice Home. Mrs. Hunter is survived by her children & spouse, Roy & Beth Smith, Winston Salem, NC, Elizabeth Guynn, Ararat, NC, Barbara Flinchum, Walnut Grove, NC, Dorothy Barnes, Cana, brothers & sisters-in-law, Roy & Pat Hiatt, Wendell & Dorothy Hiatt, Cana, VA, sisters & brother-in-law, Dorothy Wall, Marcia & Bobby Ayers, Nina Newman all of Cana, VA, boyfriend Donnie Collins, Mt. Airy, NC, eight grandchildren, one great granddaughter also survives.

Funeral services will be held on Monday, June 29, 2009 at 11:00 AM at Oak Grove Baptist Church, Cana, VA. With Rev. Todd E. Byrd, and Rev. Emmett Crotts officiating. Burial will follow in the Oak Grove Cemetery, Cana, VA. The family will receive friends at the church on Monday from 10:00 until 11:00 AM prior to the funeral service. Vaughan-Guynn-McGrady Chapel is serving the family.
