Ruby Ammezetta Goad, 83, of Hillsville passed away on Saturday, February 22, 2014 at her home. She was preceded in death by her husband, Dennis Elton Goad; parents, William Oscar and Elva Mae Alderman Midkiff. Survivors include her daughter and son-in-law, Ellen Marie, and Terry Horton of Hillsville; sons and daughter-in-law, Randall and Derhonda Goad of Fancy Gap, and James E. Goad of Hillsville; brothers and sisters-in-law, Ray and Mary Midkiff, and Grant and Betty Midkiff all of Beltsville, MD; sisters-in-laws, Mattie Goad of Woodlawn, Geneva Goad of Galax, and Pat Midkiff of Michigan; six grandchildren, six great grandchildren, and one step great granddaughter. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, February 25, 2014 at 11:00 AM at Vaughan-Guynn-McGrady Chapel with Rev. Nathan Montgomery officiating. Burial will follow in the Mt. Plains Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Monday, February 24, 2014 from 6:00 to 8:00 PM. Vaughan-Guynn-McGrady Chapel is serving the Goad family.
