Roy Truman Marshall, 84 of Ararat, Virginia passed away on Wednesday, September 23, 2026 at his home. Mr. Marshall was born in Carroll County, Virginia to the late Canada Abraham and Notre Dame Shaw Marshall. In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by stepdaughter, Joyce L. Jessup; sisters, Vesta Quesinberry and Bessie Frances Marshall; and brothers, C.A. Marshall, Lonnie Marshall, Billy Joe Marshall and Monroe Marshall.

Survivors include his wife, Jeanne Marie Marshall; sons, Joe Marshall (Kimberly), Randy Marshall, and Roy Layne Marshall; stepdaughters, Wanda Winesett (Jeff), Judy Smith (Ricky), Sandy Secrest (Bobby), Sherry Ayers, and April Hiatt (Terry); sisters, Elaine Baker and Jane Marshall; grandchildren, Joe D. Marshall Jr., Mark Willard (Sarah), and Alexis Bourne; several step grandchildren; several step greatgrandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

A private graveside service with burial following will be held at the Horton Cemetery. Vaughan-Guynn-McGrady Chapel is serving the family.
