Rosie Elizabeth Vass Cassell, 52, of Hillsville passed away on Friday, December 30, 2016 at the Joan and Howard Woltz Hospice Home in Dobson, NC.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Harley Greene and Beatrice Hendrick Vass.

Survivors include her daughters and son-in-law, Jamie Cassell and Tommy Hawks of Woodlawn, and Michelle Cassell of Fancy Gap; sister and brother-in-law, Teresa and John Crowl of Mt. Airy; brothers and sisters-in-laws, Cleveland and Brenda Vass of Ararat, Jack and Lucille Vass of Laurel Fork, and Lester and Joan Vass of Hillsville; two grandsons, Logan Hawks, and Paden Hawks. Several nieces and nephews also survive.

Funeral Services will be held on Sunday, January 1, 2017 at 3:00 PM at Vaughan-Guynn-McGrady Chapel with Rev. Terry McMillian officiating. Burial will follow in the Bluemont Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Sunday, January 1, 2017 from 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to the Twin County Humane Society P.O. Box 125 Hillsville, VA 24343. Vaughan-Guynn-McGrady Chapel is serving the Cassell family.
