October 7, 1914 – December 1, 2006
Roscoe R. Lintecum, 92 of Hillsville, entered his eternal life with Jesus, Savior of his soul on December 1, 2006 surrounded by his loving family. He has been a member of Coulson Church of the Brethren for 80 years. He and his wife Izetta recently celebrated a love story that began over 70 years ago. He was a lifetime farmer and worked in the Austinville Lead and Zinc Mines, and for his father-in-laws business, J.L. Harmon Lumber Company. He enjoyed family activities, auction sales and old-time wheeling and dealing.
Mr. Lintecum was preceded in death by his parents, Woltz and Virginia Carter Lintecum; sons Billy Duane Lintecum and Roger June Lintecum; two sisters and six brothers. Roscoe is survived by his wife Icie Izetta Harmon Lintecum of Hillsville; son and daughter-in-law John and Gail Lintecum of Hillsville; daughters & son-in-law Edna and A.L. Noblett of Hillsville, Mary Coulson of Hillsville and Linda Lintecum of Hillsville; brother & sister-in-law C.D. & Gladys Lintecum of Martinsville, VA; brother-in-law & spouse Archa & Alice Harmon of Hillsville; sister-in-law Forthe Shockley Lintecum of Hillsville; 12 grandchildren; 26 great grandchildren; 1 great great grandchild; 1 step grandchild; 6 step great grandchildren; 2 foster grandchildren; 1 foster great grandchild and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be Sunday, December 3, 2006 at Coulson Church of the Brethren at 2:00 PM with Rev. Russell Payne officiating. Burial will follow in the Coulson Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 PM on Saturday night at the church. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Coulson Church Building Fund or to Twin County Hospice.
