Ronald Allen Akers, 77 of Woodlawn, passed away on Saturday, November 18, 2023 at Kindred Hospital in Greensboro.  Mr. Akers was born in West Virginia to the late James C. & Della Parnell Akers.  In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by brothers, Bill Akers, Jim Akers, and Rob Akers.

Survivors include his wife of 59 years, Shirley Caviness Akers; daughters, Robin Cagle (Jeff), Sharon Harris (Craig), and Nancy Shupe (Lenny); grandchildren, Tray Hayes, Misty Hayes, Tara Cockman, Tori Cockman, Rayne Cruise, and Payton Shupe; eight great-grandchildren; brother, Jake Akers; and special fur baby, Dolly.

Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, November 22, 2023 at Hillsville Church of God at 2:00 PM with Pastor Dallas Jones and Pastor Chris Lindamood officiating.  Burial will follow in the Parnell Cemetery.  The family will receive friends at the church on Wednesday from 1:00 until 2:00 PM.  Vaughan-Guynn-McGrady Chapel is serving the family.
