Romey Leonard Bevil, 87 of Fancy Gap, passed away on Friday, January 30, 2026 at Hillsville Health and Rehab.  Mr. Bevil was born in Carroll County, Virginia to the late Ira Colon and Clara Martha Leonard Bevil.  In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by a daughter, Barbara Ann Bevil; son-in-law, Gary Gravley; and siblings, Margie, Bert, Pearl, Lottie and Lester.

Survivors include his wife of 70 years, Charlotte Bevil; daughters, Rebecca Hall (Larry) and Penny Gravley; grandchildren, Roxanna Martin (Curtis), Asa Gravley (Taylor), and Courtney Hall (special friend, Zack); great-grandchildren, Madison, Hastin, Amariah, Kashton, Kylee, Elijah, Kloe, and Liam; and several nieces and nephews.

The family would like to express their gratitude to those that have helped care for Romey.  They especially want to extend a special thank you to Hillsville Health and Rehab and VA Home Base Primary Team.

Funeral services will be held on Friday, February 6, 2026 at Vaughan-Guynn-McGrady Chapel at 1:00 PM with Pastors John Leek and Rick Wesber officiating.  Burial will follow in the New Hope Cemetery.  Military rites will be conducted by the Hillsville V.F.W. Grover King Post 1115.  The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Friday from 12:00 until 1:00 PM prior to the funeral service.  Vaughan-Guynn-McGrady Chapel is serving the family.
