Rollie Elmer Montgomery, 97 of Hillsville, passed away on Thursday, January 11, 2007 at Twin County Regional Hospital. He was preceded in death by a granddaughter Shiraine Montgomery Browning. Mr. Montgomery is survived by his wife of 78 years, Thelma Marshall Montgomery; sons & daughters-in-law James & Gunda Montgomery and Robert & Shirley Montgomery all of Galax; two grandchildren Rose Marie Duff and Michael Montgomery; three great grandchildren Marc Duff, James Edward Montgomery II and Mikaela Montgomery; two great-great grandchildren Joseph Duff and Darian Duff; and a sister Addie Wilson of Winston Salem, NC.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, January 13, 2007 at Vaughan-Guynn-McGrady Chapel at 2:00 PM with Rev. Charles Smythers and Rev. Terri Johnson Gregory officiating. Burial will follow at Monta Vista Memory Gardens. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 1:00 PM until 2:00 PM prior to the funeral service.
