Roger Lee Phillips, 62, of Hillsville, passed away on Monday, May 5, 2014 at the home of his fiancé in Dugspur. Roger was born in Carroll County to the late Giles E. and Edith Marshall Phillips. In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by his daughter, Sabrina Jean Roberts. Roger was the supervisor of transportation with Carroll County Public School System where he had been employed since he was 14 years old. Survivors include his grandson, Bradley Roberts of Hillsville; son-in-law, Jimmy Roberts of Hillsville; fiancé, Yvonne Hansen of Dugspur; brothers, Clinton Phillips of Hillsville and Donnie Wayne Phillips of Laurel Fork; and sisters and brother-in-law, Virginia and Artie Gallimore of Cana and Annie Mae Phillips of Laurel Fork. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, May 10, 2014 at 5:00 PM at Vaughan-Guynn-McGrady Chapel with Pastor David Bays officiating. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Saturday from 3:00 to 5:00 PM prior to the service. Flowers are appreciated; however, donations may be made to the American Cancer Society P.O.
