Roger Dale Lindsey, 77, of Hillsville VA passed away on Monday, February 12, 2024 at Atrium Health Wake Forest Baptist Hospital. He was born on December 3, 1946 in Carroll County. He was preceded in death by his parents, Carl Levi and Edna Henley Lindsey. Also preceding him in death are two sisters, Maxine Quesenberry and Darlene Quesenberry and two brothers, Sammy Lindsey and James Lindsey.
He is survived by his wife of 54 years, Jeanette Lindsey; two sons, Randy Lindsey (Cathy) of Locust, NC and Kevin Lindsey (Carla Caraway) of Sumter, SC. Five grandsons; Austin, Connor, Cameron, Adam Lindsey and Logan Caraway and two granddaughters; Hannah Ray (Nathanael) and Karlee Caraway.
Surviving are two brothers; Bobby Lindsey (Cora) of Hillsville and Lonnie Lindsey (Ima) of Fancy Gap, sister-in-law Katie Lindsey of Hillsville and brother-in-law and sister-in-law Alan and Phyllis Cox of Woodlawn.
Roger was a hard-working man who loved his family and adored his grandchildren. He was a faithful member and deacon at Pine Grove Missionary Baptist Church for many years and most recently attended Skyview Missionary Baptist Church. He proudly served his country in the US Army. Beyond his deep love for his church and family, he was a good friend and neighbor to many and will be truly missed throughout the community.
Funeral services will be held on Friday, February 16, 2024 at Vaughan-Guynn-McGrady Chapel at 11:00 AM with Pastor Gary Horton of Sky View Missionary Baptist Church officiating. Burial will be in Liberty Hill Cemetery. Military honors will be conducted at the graveside by Hillsville VFW Grover King Post 1115. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Friday from 10:00 until 11:00 AM prior to the funeral service. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Sky View Baptist Church Missions.
