Rodney Lee Sawyers, 50 of Hillsville, passed away on Thursday, July 29, 2010 at his home. Mr. Sawyers was preceded in death by his father Clerin R. Sawyers and sister Carla Denise Haynes. He is survived by his mother Virginia Sawyers Burnette of Hillsville; sister & brother-in-law Donna Sawyers & Lloyd D. Williams of Hillsville; brother & sister-in-law Gregory Dean & Barbara Sawyers of Hillsville; grandmother Mary Ruth Sawyers of Hillsville; companion Ann Sutphin of Hillsville; nieces Shanna Sawyers and Taelor Williams; nephew Jared Sawyers; and two great nephews.

Funeral services will be held on Sunday, August 1, 2010 at 1:00 PM at Vaughan-Guynn-McGrady Chapel with Mr. Landon Cole and Rev. Harold Fenstermaker officiating. Burial will follow in the Semones Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Saturday, July 31, 2010 from 6:00 until 8:00 PM.
