Robert Tipton Davis, 78, of Fries, passed away on Sunday, August 11, 2013 at his home. Mr. Davis was born in Carroll County to the late Tipton and India Sybille Howlett Davis. Mr. Davis is survived by his wife, Martha Davis of the home; daughters, Anna Lisa Davis of Christiansburg and Cheryl Hernandez of Galax; son, Ronald Lee Davis and wife Tammy of Hillsville; step children and spouse, Chris and Deborah May of Fries and Angela Crowder of Galax; sister and brother-in-law, Shelba and Dorless Barr of Hillsville; nine grandchildren; three step grandchildren; and nineteen great grandchildren. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, August 14, 2013 at Vaughan-Guynn-McGrady Chapel at 11:00 AM with Lee Thomas and Andy Edmonds officiating. Burial will follow in the Dalton Hill Cemetery. Military rites will conducted by the Hillsville V.F.W. Post 1115. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Tuesday, August 13, 2013 from 6:00 until 8:00 PM. Vaughan-Guynn-McGrady Chapel is serving the family.
