Robert Morris Strickland, 69 of Hillsville, passed away on Sunday, September 27, 2009 at Kindred Hospital in Greensboro, NC. He was preceded in death by his father Robert Wilson Strickland. Mr. Strickland is survived by his wife Ruth Frazier Strickland of the home; special sister-in-law Peggy Frazier Weddle of Hillsville; mother Elsie Ransdell Strickland of Raleigh, NC; daughters & sons-in-law Gail & Tim Sellers, Rocky Mt., NC and Mandy & Lee Bodenhamer of Wendell, NC; step son & spouse Jerry & Kathy Stratton, Eden, NC; brother & sister-in-law Charles & Mary Alice Strickland, Willow Springs, NC; sisters & brothers-in-law Evelyn & Don Hale and Betty & Bobby Smith all of Raleigh, NC: five grandchildren; one step grandchild; two step great grandchildren; and special great nephew Travis Clere.

Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, September 30, 2009 at Vaughan-Guynn-McGrady Chapel at 11:00 AM with Pastor Jeff Pickett, Will Shewy and Dr. Lawrence Childs officiating. Burial will follow in the Shorts Creek Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Tuesday, September 29, 2009 at the funeral home from 6:00 until 8:00 PM. The family will be receiving friends other times at the home of Peggy Weddle at 1531 East Stuart Drive, Hillsville.
