Robert Samuel Staples, 56 of Hillsville, passed away Sunday, January 23, 2011 at Carilion New River Valley Medical Center. Mr. Staples was born in Carroll County to Frieda Martin Staples and the late Loman Samuel Staples. In addition to his mother of Hillsville, Mr. Staples is survived by his daughters & sons-in-law Freida & Darrin Hill and Janie & Ronnie Bowers all of Dallas, GA; brothers & sisters-in-law Eldon Lane & Linda Staples of High Falls, GA, Joseph David & Donella Staples of Hillsville and Charles Chris & Debbie Staples of High Falls, GA; and seven grandchildren Caleb Bowers, Abby Bowers, Dillon Bowers, Emily Hill, Evan Hill, Ethan Hill, and Ezra Hill.

Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, January 26, 2011 at Vaughan-Guynn-McGrady Chapel at 2:00 PM with Pastor Chip Neely officiating. Burial will follow in the Shiloh Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Tuesday, January 25, 2011 from 6:00 until 8:00 PM.
