Robert Bowman, Jr. , 79 of Hillsville, passed away on Tuesday, May 10, 2016 at his home. Mr. Bowman was born in Patrick County to the late Robert Lee Bowman, Sr. and Mabel Jessup Bowman. In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by his daughter, Robin Annette Largen.

Survivors include his wife, Bonnie B. Bowman of the home; son and daughter-in-law, Randy Lee and Stephanie Bowman of Hillsville; son-in-law, James Largen of Hillsville; two grandsons, James Matthew Largen and wife, Nancy, and Brett Bowman; step great grandson, Jacob Sawyers; brother and sister-in-law Bradley and Sharon Bowman of Mount Airy; sisters and brothers-in-law, Pauline and Arthur Boyd of Ararat, Imogene and Ronnie Culler of Fieldale, and Barbara Ann and Leonard Bishop of Ararat; uncle, James Paul Jessup; aunts, Peggy Sue Jessup and Lottie Gammons; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, May 14, 2016 at 2:00 PM at Vaughan-Guynn-McGrady Chapel with Rev. Terry McMillian and Rev. Ed Bowman officiating. Burial will follow in the Rome Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Saturday, May 14, 2016 from 12:00 until 2:00 PM prior to the funeral service.
