Robert Edward Fender, Jr., 84 of Austinville, passed away on Sunday, December 21, 2025 at the Woltz Hospice Home in Dobson.  Mr. Fender was born in California to the late Robert E. Fender, Sr. and Carroll Jean Sims.  In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by a brother, Billy Fender.

Survivors include his children, George Fender (Tammy), Larry Fender (Cindy), Mike Fender (Dineen), Chris Fender (Kim), Rusty Fender (Nikki), Carole Jaqua (Scott), and Dusty Fender; a host of grandchildren and great-grandchildren; and siblings, Jimmy Fender (Marion, Debbie) and Barbara McNair.

The family would like to express a special thank you to Mr. Fender's neighbor, Priscilla and his home health care nurse, Sebrena.

A graveside service with burial following will be held on Tuesday, January 6, 2026 at 1:00 PM at the Southwest Virginia Veteran's Cemetery in Dublin.  Vaughan-Guynn-McGrady Chapel is serving the family.
