Robert Lee Ellison, Sr., 88 of Asheville, NC passed away on Thursday, July 29, 2010 at Mission Hospital in Asheville, NC. He was preceded in death by his parents Garland Lee & Pearl Singleton Ellison. Mr. Ellison is survived by his wife Gaye McGrady Ellison; daughter Mary Kandace Hovis of Asheville, NC; son Robert Lee Ellison, Jr. of Dataw, SC; sisters Barbara Thompson of Jacksonville, FL & Mary Lou Bailey of Mullins, WV; six grandchildren Shane Mangus, Erin Mangus, Joshua Ellison, Katie Ellison Bader, Adam E. Willis, and Joseph C. Ellison; great grandchild Brady Ellison.

Funeral service will be held on Monday, August 02, 2010 at 11:00 AM at Vaughan-Guynn-McGrady Chapel with Rev. Ty Harrison officiating. Burial will follow in the Alderman Cemetery.Military Rites will be conducted by Hillsville V.F.W. Post 1115. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Monday, August 02, 2010 one hour prior to the funeral service. Vaughan-Guynn-McGrady Chapel is serving the family.
