Robert Lee Caviness, 77 of Austinville passed away Saturday, February 18, 2006 at his residence. Mr. Caviness was preceded in death by his wife Margaret H. Caviness and daughter Nancy Sue Caviness. He is survived by his daughters & sons-in-law Shirley & Ronald Akers of Woodlawn and Gloria & Joseph Branscome of Hillsville; sons & daughters-in-law Charles Caviness of Barren Springs, Leon & Joy Caviness of Hillsville and Miles & Connie Caviness of Austinville; brothers Homer Caviness & fiance Beulah Guynn of Galax, Roy Caviness and wife Beverly of Roanoke, Otis Caviness & wife Shirley of Patrick Springs and Joe Caviness & wife Bertie of Galax; 15 grandchildren and 31 great grandchildren.

Funeral services will be Tuesday, February 21, 2006 at Shorts Creek Church of God at 11:00 A.M. with the Rev. Dale Frazier, Rev. Curtis Dalton and Rev. Howard Riley officiating. Burial will follow in the Parnell Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 P.M. on Monday night at the Shorts Creek Church of God.
