Robert Rush (Bob) Nester, 76 of Galax, passed away on Monday, May 30, 2011 at Twin County Regional Hospital. Mr. Nester was born in Carroll County to the late Roy Clinton & Minnie Worrell Nester. He is survived by his wife Alene McCraw Nester of the home; daughters & sons-in-law Michele & Jim Dixon of Galax, Gina & Red Dalton of Galax, Susan Kinser of Galax, Sara & Lynn Rucker of Hillsville, Pam Irvin of Hillsville and Angela Easter of Warner Robbins, GA; sons & daughter-in-law Mike Nester of Hillsville and Fred & Polly Nester of Raleigh, NC; sister & brother-in-law Jean & L.J. Terry of Laurel Fork; 14 grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren.

A funeral service will be held on Thursday, June 2, 2011 at 11:00 AM at Vaughan-Guynn-McGrady Chapel with Rev. Mike Morris, Elder Melvin McGrady and Rev. Charles Bunn officiating. Burial will follow in the Independence Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Wednesday, June 1, 2011 from 6:00 until 8:00 PM.
