Robert Basil Dalton, 76, of Meadows of Dan passed away on Saturday, April 5, 2014 at Wake Forest Baptist Medical Center in Winston-Salem, NC. He was preceded in death by his parents, Robert Rush and Trudy Quesenberry Dalton. Survivors include his wife, Judy Turman Dalton of the home; children and spouses, Deborah and J.B. Greer of Galax, Gregory Alan Dalton of Phoenixville, PA, James Harless Dalton of Bladenboro, NC, and Melissa and Matthew Deal of Meadows of Dan; brothers and sisters-in-laws, Thomas R. and Cathy Dalton of Meadows of Dan, Donald and Karlene Dalton of Laurel Fork, and Odell Dalton of Meadows of Dan; sisters and brother-in-law, Kathleen Miller of Bridgeport, CT, Georgia and Donald Kimble of Meadows of Dan, and Betty and Lewis Vass of Hillsville; ten grandchildren, and nine great grandchildren. Several nieces and nephews also survive. A Graveside service will be held on Tuesday, April 8, 2014 at 10:00 AM at Reed Island Springs Cemetery with Elder Lewis Vass, and Elder Dan Puckett officiating. There will be no visitation. In lieu of flowers the family asks that donations be made to the New Fellowship Primitive Baptist Church in care of Theoa Nester, 57 Bitter Sweet Lane Woodlawn, VA 24381. Vaughan-Guynn-McGrady Chapel is serving the Dalton family.
