Rixie Burton Robinson, 88 of Woodlawn, passed away on Monday, February 24, 2014 at Heritage Hall Laurel Meadows. Mr. Robinson was born in Carroll County on January 7, 1926 to the late Oscar Vance and Lillie Mae Thomason Robinson. In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by his wife, Virginia Fowler Robinson and an infant son. Survivors include his daughter and son-in-law, Wilma and David Horton; son and daughter-in-law, Wade and Wanda Robinson; sisters, Zella Lineberry and Goldie Lundy; and brother, M.F. Robinson, all of Woodlawn; sisters-in-law, Ethelene Robinson of Woodlawn, Nancy Robinson of FL; granddaughters and spouse, Kristal Robinson Edwards and husband Brian of Galax, and Amber Paige Robinson; and great grandchildren, Karie Rose Edwards and Zachary Mark Edwards. Several nieces and nephews also survive. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, February 27, 2014 at 7:00 PM at Vaughan-Guynn-McGrady Chapel with Rev. Myron Dalton officiating. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Thursday from 5:00 until 7:00 PM prior to the funeral service. A private burial will be held in Monta Vista Memory Gardens. Flowers are greatly appreciated; however, the family request no food be brought to the home. Vaughan-Guynn-McGrady Chapel is serving the family.
