Richard P. Phillips

Richard P. Phillips, 76, of Falls Church, Virginia, passed peacefully on November 1, 2026. Born April 16, 1950, in Hillsville Virginia, he is predeceased by his parents, Oden and Eileen Phillips of Hillsville Virginia, and his wife, Kathleen.

Rich was a loving father and grandfather ("Papa"). Survivors include his three children, Sandi, Katie, and Alex; five grandchildren, Emmeline, James, Cora, Olivia, and Charlotte; his brother, Rex; and his partner Georgianna. Many will remember his generous spirit and quiet community support.

In addition to his mission work rebuilding homes following natural disasters, Rich was also admired and appreciated for the way he supported and empowered those around him to reach their goals.

Services will be held November 7, 2026 at 1 PM at Dulin United Methodist Church, 513 E Broad St, Falls Church and November 14, 2026 at 11 AM at Vaughan-Guynn-McGrady Chapel, 1035 N Main St. Hillsville. The family extends their thanks to those who have cared for Rich during his battle with cancer. In lieu of flowers, we ask that donations are made to UMVIM, United Methodist Volunteers in Mission.
