Richard "Charlie" Parnell, also known as Mickey Mouse, passed away on Tuesday, June 20, 2023 at Lewis Gale Pulaski Hospital at the age of 63.  Mr. Parnell was born in Carroll County, Virginia on June 13, 1960 to the late Cloyd Leonard and Mandy Pauline Caviness Parnell. In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by a brother, James Parnell; niece, Missy Semones; and brother-in-law, Chuck Hoover.

Survivors include his wife, Mary Ann Parnell; daughter, Kayla Stuart (Ricky); grandson, Riley Stuart; brothers, William "Buster" Jospeh Parnell (Betty), Roger Lee Parnell (Nancy), Junior Isom Parnell (Lowetta), Gary Leon Parnell (Elma), and Ricky Lane Parnell; sisters, Jeweldene "Jewel" Hoover and Rebecca "Becky" Sue Meredith (Bill); sister-in-law, Wanda Parnell; and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, June 24, 2023 at 11:00 AM at Vaughan-Guynn-McGrady Chapel with Pastor Frankie Graham officiating.  Burial will follow in the Parnell Cemetery.  The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Friday, June 23, 2023 from 6:00 until 8:00 PM. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the family for funeral expenses. Vaughan-Guynn-McGrady Chapel is serving the family.
